Amid the ever-changing states of the Arabian Gulf, Oman offers a refreshing reminder of a seemingly bygone age. Over-development has yet to blight its most spectacular landscapes and cultural traditions remain remarkably undiluted, making the sultanate one of the best places in the Gulf to experience traditional Arabia.
Quiet stretches of coast are shaded with nodding palm trees and dotted with fishing boats. Mudbrick villages nestle amid sprawling date plantations or cling to the sides of remote valleys. Craggy chains of towering mountains are scored with precipitous canyons and rocky wadis, while the wind-blown dunes and gravel plains of the great inland deserts stretch away into the distance.
Of course, it's not all savagely beautiful, sparsely populated landscapes. Oman has embraced the modern world, and in parts of the country the contemporary is very much in evidence, particularly in the low-key glitter and bustle of the capital, Muscat.

After a leisurely morning, it's time to head to the airport for return flights to London Heathrow.
Wednesday 15 November
It's time to relax for the whole day, enjoy the beach and activities before heading out for the evening for the final chapter of your Elite story.
The Dhow Lawn, at the Shangri-La Resort will be our Farewell Dinner location, offering beach vibes set against the stunning ocean, as we celebrate a wonderful stay in beautiful Oman.
Tuesday 14 November
Your next chapter has a change of pace as you take in the vibrant culture and stunning architecture that Muscat has to offer. Our first stop will be to explore Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a truly unique landmark that will fill you with wonder.
After taking in the mosaics and structures, it's then to the hustle and bustle of the souk in Muscat. Here you'll find sights and smells, but most importantly souvenirs, before heading back for lunch.
You'll then have the chance to relax and explore what the resort has to offer during the afternoon and evening.
Monday 13 November
There's no time to rest as you continue your Elite story. After a night in the desert your next experience will be a hike and scramble through the craggy rocks and turquoise blue pools of Wadi Hawer. After all the action of the morning, you'll re-fuel with lunch amongst a dry wadi, surrounded by lush foliage, before heading off on the next stage of your journey – the ocean!
After a busy few days, it's now time to relax at the beautiful Al Husn hotel, part of the Shangri-La resort. Offering a majestic overlook of the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Oman, the hotel is an exclusive clifftop retreat, with its own infinity pool and private beach.
Once you've settled into your room, it's over to you to choose where to spend the evening.
Sunday 12 November
The next chapter of your story takes you on a walk to experience the beautiful landscape and authentic mountain villages. It's then time to jump into your 4x4 for another breathtaking landscape as you head to the desert!
This experience will be one to remember. After arriving at the Desert Nights Camp, you'll take on dune bashing, watch the sunset over the dunes, dine under the stars and hear stories of old before finally falling asleep under a tented roof. Another chapter of your Elite story is complete.
Saturday 11 November
On landing in Muscat, the group will have a comfort stop and breakfast at a nearby hotel. You'll then be heading towards the mountains to stay at the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort. One of the highest located resorts in the world, it perches on the edge of a canyon in the Hajar Mountains. This day is about relaxing, enjoying your surroundings and spending time with the group at the Welcome Dinner.

It's time to begin your Elite story with the group flight from London Heathrow to Muscat.
